Lap-dancing club ‘drugged and defrauded customers’
PUNTERS at a lap-dancing club were drugged, fleeced of up to £93,000 and offered sexual services, a report claims.
One customer alleged his drink was spiked after £9,000 was charged to his credit card and a home drugs test showed positive for methadone.
Undercover trading standards staff “were offered sexual services” for £1,000, the joint police and licensing report added. And CCTV at Legs 11 on Broad Street, Birmingham, “appeared to corroborate reports” of the dancers getting clients very drunk “then getting them to use their credit cards”.
West Midlands Police said 17 allegations totalled £93,042, and reported that “intelligence” indicated links to “organised crime groups in Albania”. It added: “These premises are involved in serious criminality.”
A decision on suspending the club licence is due Monday.
