Player of the year at 69 is a real keeper
A GOALIE grandad has won “player of the league” at the age of 69.
Robert Norfolk beat contenders half his age to take the title after his sixa-side team came top in their Sunday league.
The keeper, of Bridgend, South Wales, said: “I keep playing purely for enjoyment. It’s about the sport, but we like it when we win.
“It’s purely for the love of playing – you have to have that.” He plays in the league alongside his three sons and his nephew.
Son Darren, 44, said: “He’s still very brave and very agile. He’s still a very, very good goalie and he’s an absolute gentleman.
“We’re all absolutely football mad and we all support West Brom.”
