VINNIE Jones has blamed a “disgruntled” former assistant for “planting” the picture of 100 dead foxes on his Twitter feed.

The footballer-turnedactor, 52, claimed his account had been hacked.

And he posted yesterday: “We have found sadly a disgruntled EX-assistant of mine planted the photo on my account.” He said he was quitting Twitter after the snap sparked protests over its boasts about killing foxes.

He added: “I’ll follow my country pursuits with the correct etiquette that have always been instilled in me.”

The Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor loves lamping, where hunters shoot animals at night.

He told Shooting UK: “I’ve spent a lot of money on customising my Land Rover for lamping. If the farmer has a fox problem, I love going out and dealing with it.”

A spokesman for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, mentioned in his tweet, said: “We do not believe this photo is representative of one night of UK fox control.”
