SERGIO ROMERO is delighted David De Gea is staying at Manchester United – even though the Spaniard is relegating him to the bench. First-choice keeper De Gea (above) has long been a target for Real Madrid, but United have resisted advances and put a £70million price tag on him. That is fine by Romero, who reckons competing with the Reds No.1 has improved him as a keeper. “It’s better for the club there is this competition there between me and David,” said the Argentina star. “It’s very important we work in this way so we can get the most out of each other. So yes, it’s good for me if he stays.”
