TRAVEL FIRMS TAKE FLIGHT
Brits are heading to the sun, heating up figures for both Thomas Cook and Heathrow.
Thomas Cook said third-quarter revenues were up 20% to £2.3billion, helping pre-tax losses narrow from £64m to £31m.
It said trips to Greece, Bulgaria and Cyprus were the most popular, and that it would begin selling holidays to Tunisia again from this winter.
Heathrow Airport recorded an all-time record in passenger numbers in its first half – up 3.9% to 37.1 million. Middle East flights were busy including to Iran.
“Our start is a boon for Britain,” said chief executive John Holland-Kaye.
