I’ll have the fool English breakfast
BIZARRE breakfast requests made at guesthouses include king prawn vindaloo with a boiled egg and dry Weetabix spread with Marmite, a poll reveals.
Other guests demanded cornflakes in Carling lager, bacon in porridge, steak and spaghetti, yoghurt with pepper and scrambled egg on toast “with no egg”.
Booking service eviivo, which polled 6,600 B&B owners, found 60% said guests favour a full English. But 17% said a continental breakfast was the top choice.
Spokesman Thomas Messett said: “One of the biggest puzzles is a Weetabix spread with Marmite. We gave this a try in our office. It doesn’t taste great and takes about 19 minutes to eat. What B&Bs find is catering for every reasonable taste is a great way of increasing bookings.”
