Escape jail is is nightmare

A PRISON where two lags escaped by sawing through bars is “overcrowded” and “inhumane” a report says.

A monitoring board at Pentonville Prison said it had blocked toilets, leaking sewage, and inmates regularly go without showers and hot food.

It also criticised the north London jail’s old windows saying: “If cells can’t contain prisoners, the public’s safety is at risk.”

Matthew Baker, 29, and James Whitlock, 32, broke out in November last year but were caught days later.
