Machan hangs up his bat

SUSSEX batsman Matt Machan has retired at the age of 26 with a wrist injury.

The Scotland star, who averaged 33.36 in 23 ODIs and 40.70 in 13 Twenty20s for his country, spent 16 years at Hove. He said: “It’s a shame as I had more to offer.”
