31,000 want North rail link

-

MORE than 31,000 people have signed a petition demanding better investment in rail links across the North of England.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling last week backed a new £30billion route in the South East.

Days earlier he ditched rail upgrades in Wales, the Midlands and the North.

The petition by the think tank IPPR North and campaign group 38 Degrees calls on Mr Grayling to back a high-speed line from Liverpool to Hull.
