Families flee crane crunch
MORE than 60 people had to sleep in temporary accommodation after the collapse of a crane.
The 35-metre crane, with a 60-metre jib or arm, slammed into a former Primark store in Reading, Berks, on Saturday. No one was hurt and the crane is now stable.
Supt Robert France, of Thames Valley Police, said that Dutch engineers were travelling to the scene to assess the damage.
He added: “It may take days to remove the crane.”
