TOP MARCS FOR EDGING INCH WAR

- BY GARETH WALKER

HULL FC talisman Marc Sneyd revealed how a game of inches helped him take the Black and Whites back to Wembley.

Last year’s Lance Todd Trophy winner produced another man of the match performance as Lee Radford’s team picked the Rhinos apart. Sneyd kicked seven goals and a drop goal (above), and said making sure the fine margins were in order was the key to his influential display.

He said: “I’ve probably not been at my best recently but I’ve not been far off. It’s just been an inch here or there in certain areas.

“It clicked against Leeds and I got a few combinations going how they used to be with my back-rowers, centres and wingers.

“The game plan was very important to us. We worked on that every day and we went out and executed it to the final detail.

“It was inch-perfect and we’re over the moon with the way we performed.”
