Feeding woe of new mums

-

FOUR in 10 new mums are put off breastfeeding within 24 hours after struggling to get the baby to latch on, a study found.

More than a quarter admitted feeling clueless and one in 10 turned to bottle feeding as breastfeeding was too painful.

Mumsnet also found more than half gave up at six to eight weeks.

Site founder Justine Roberts said: “Breastfeeding is a skill and most mothers need support when they hit a problem.”
