Turtles leave easyJet passengers stranded
BRITISH holidaymakers were stranded on the Greek isle of Zante for two days after an easyJet plane was grounded.
Technical problems led to the cancellation of flight EZY9746 to London Gatwick on Sunday. A relief flight was unable to land on the island on Monday due to a night flying ban imposed to protect endangered loggerhead turtles.
Passengers said they were left without adequate food and drink and there were problems finding hotel rooms.
George Trefgarne, travelling with his wife and two children, said: “It was total chaos.”
EasyJet said: “We are very sorry for the delay.”
