Blunder puts data of 496 docs on web
AN NHS Trust mistakenly put the personal details of 496 junior doctors online.
A downloadable spreadsheet on a site that is part of St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals Trust included home and email addresses, NI numbers and mobile numbers.
Managers at the Lancashire trust removed it and launched a probe.
One junior doctor said: “I’m glad the trust acted quickly but this should never have been loaded.”
The trust said it had contacted the Information Commissioner’s Office and the page was hosted by an external supplier.
A spokeswoman added: “The data breach has been reviewed independently and the trust has been assured risk to personal security is minimal.”
