Blue sharks usually grow to 13ft and 400lb, but occasional outsized specimens have been spotted. They are in every ocean in the world. There have been 13 attacks on humans since records began, with four deaths.

Up to 20 million blue sharks a year are hunted for their skin, oil, teeth and fins.
