5m hit by Virgin Media rises

SOAP Barry and Lucy in 2000 FIVE million Virgin Media customers face 4.7% price rises this autumn.

The firm said the “majority” of customers would see bills rise in November, with increases of between £1.99 and £3.99 a month, depending on the package.

Customers with Virgin broadband, phone and TV plans will see bills rise by between £3.49 and £3.99 a month. Broadband only and broadband and phone deals will go up by between £1.99 and £2.99 a month.

The increases are to take effect on November 1 and follow three price hikes last year, one of which was 5.1%.
