Op worry for Wells
NAHKI WELLS faces an ankle operation that threatens to scupper his £10million move from Huddersfield to Reading.
He has already been ruled out for three weeks with the injury and fears being sidelined for longer if surgery is required.
Royals boss Jaap Stam wanted to tie up a deal ahead of his side’s Championship opener at QPR on Saturday, but may now decide to look elsewhere for a striker.
Terriers manager David Wagner said: ”There are a few investigations to see if Nahki needs an operation.
“He has a screw in his ankle from an injury 10 years ago, and may have to have it removed.
“But he will definitely be out for three weeks, maybe longer depending on the specialist’s report.”
