A SADISTIC child rapist jailed for his part in the killing of Baby P has lost his bid for freedom. Steven Barker, 41, will spend at least two more years in prison after being refused parole.

The news comes on the 10th anniversary of Baby P’s death.

Barker is serving a life sentence for the rape of a twoyear-old girl. He was also jailed for 12 years for “causing or allowing” the death of 17-month-old Peter Connelly. Peter, first known as Baby P in a case that shocked Britain, died in Haringey, North London, in 2007 with more than 50 injuries. His death came at the hands of his mother Tracey Connelly, “stepfather” Barker and Jason Owen, Barker’s brother. The rape victim was four when she became the youngest person to give evidence to a trial at the Old Bailey, Central London.
