HOLBROOK HEADACHE

-

ST HELENS coach Justin Holbrook is relishing his half-back “luxury”, as Matty Smith nears a return from his horror eye injury.

Smith (right) has been out since splitting open his eyelid in late June. He has had two operations to repair the cut and faces a late test for tonight’s trip to Castleford. But scrum-half Danny Richardson has thrived in his absence and Holbrook now faces a tricky choice.

He said: “There is no reason Danny won’t stay there if Matty is right to play. Matty has to earn it – it is a good luxury to have.”
