Drink-drive casualty rise
THE number of casualties from drink-drive accidents has hit a three-year high.
Department for Transport figures show 1,370 people were killed or seriously injured in 2015, up from 1,310 on 2014.
The 4% rise is “statistically significant” and represents the largest total since 2012, the DfT said.
Pete Williams, of the RAC, said it showed “we can’t afford to be complacent about drink-drive levels in the UK”.
