Victory for Mirror’s campaign
ARSENAL owner Stan Kroenke has pulled trophy hunting from his controversial TV channel following a public backlash.
The vile content on My Outdoor TV was exposed by the Mirror and slammed by top naturalist Chris Packham and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Broadcaster Ben Fogle called for an Arsenal boycott and 68,000 people – enough to fill the club’s Emirates Stadium – demanded Kroenke stand down. Now, the channel will no longer show the slaughter of wild animals. Jim Liberatore of Kroenke’s US-based Outdoor Sportsman Group said yesterday: “Stan Kroenke has directed us to remove all content related to... animals in light of the public interest.”
Arsenal fan Will Travers, of Born Free, welcomed the change of heart. And Philippa King, of the League Against Cruel Sports, said: “A TV channel which glorifies bloodsports was never going to be a good idea.”
