Rents are on the rise again
AVERAGE home rents have risen again for the first time in three months, says a rental index.
The average monthly tenancy signed in July was £925 – up from £915 in the same month last year, said insurers HomeLet.
Prices rose 1.1% on average across the UK, following two months of small declines of 0.3% and 0.2% in May and June – the first falls since 2009.
HomeLet’s Martin Totty said: “Regions are leading the strengthening in rents.”
