NICK POWELL’S strike ensured Sam Morsy marked his first game as Wigan skipper with a win.

Morsy said: “It’s an honour to captain this club. It’s a massive club and a really ambitious one too, so it’s up to me do the best that I can.

“It was a very good performance. We were in total control and should have converted more.”

Wigan’s Callum Elder and MK’s Scott Wootton were sent off either side of the break.

Dons boss Robbie Neilson said: “I don’t think the referee controlled it well enough for this level.”
