PORT VALE boss Michael Brown wants more “energy” from his team despite a great opening win.

He said: “I think we have seen the good and bad of our side already, but we are learning.

“The fitness and energy levels, when we are playing like we are, they are still not there.”

Michael Tonge, Antony Kay and Dan Turner all netted for Vale.

Enzio Boldewijn pulled one back for Crawley, and admitted: “We didn’t start quickly enough, but after half-time we began to take control and created chances.”
