CREWE boss David Artell praised Chris Porter after the striker scored twice on his debut.

“He was the best player on the pitch without a shadow of a doubt,” said Artell. “That’s why we’ve paid the money to acquire such a prolific, experienced target man.”

Mansfield’s opening scorer Danny Rose thought the Stags should have won after David Mirfin’s leveller.

“In the second half we could have scored two or three more,” said Rose. “Their goals were poor goals to concede, but we’ll work on it in training.”
