War gamers’ brain danger
VIOLENT video games could damage the brain and may increase Alzheimer’s risk, experts claimed.
The hippocampus, a key memory centre, shrank in people playing “shooters” such as Call Of Duty for 90 hours, scans showed.
But it grew in those who played non-violent Super Mario games for the same time, Montreal University scientists found.
Dr Greg West said of the violent-game players: “We saw less grey matter in the hippocampus.”
