Keani Hobbs, 18, from Basildon, Essex, and a boy of 16 both deny manslaughter and stealing distress flares from a boat.

Prosecutor David Matthew told Chelmsford crown court a bike at Hobbs’ home matched one seen in CCTV footage on the night Mr Meshi died in February 2016 at Basildon.

He said the unnamed defendant’s parents were secretly recorded by police pinning “it all on” a third youth. The trial continues.
