Top Gear Matt at 50: I have to slow down, I’m almost dead
TOP Gear host Matt LeBlanc says turning 50 has made him realise his life in the fast life is over – as he is “almost dead”.
Asked how he felt about it, he said: “Sh**. Turning 30, it is time for look around at your life and Friends was going good. And I was like things are looking good.
“For my 40th, I had a big party at my house. I got all excited as there were caterers there, DJs in the backyard, and we had some martini drink and I thought I should probably sample that and see how that it is.
“But I passed out before the first guest got there. And with 80 people there, I was asleep and after that, I get all these pictures texted from people with butts in my face among other things. So I missed the whole party. This year, I swore I will not make the same mistake.”
Matt added: “The other thing about turning 50 is that it is half a century. And it is a quick step to, I am half way gone. Then you think, I am more than half way gone, because not many people live to 100. So I am almost dead.”
Friends star Matt told chat show host Jimmy Kimmel young fans now ask if he is Joey’s dad because he looks so much older. He said daughter Marina, 13, does not watch him on TV, adding: “She gets enough of me in the kitchen telling her, ‘Don’t eat that’. She doesn’t want to see any more of me than necessary.”
