‘Hearing Rikki’s heart is like a hug’

TEARS Chris & Sandy A MUM wept as she listened to her dead son’s heart beat in another man’s chest.

Sandy Millington lost her boy Rikki Howell, 25, to a brain haemorrhage. As he was on the organ register, Chris Horner got his heart.

Chris, 31, of Beverley, East Yorks, said of their meeting: “He is living on through me. It was my way of saying thank you.” Sandy, from Stockton-on-Tees, Co Durham, added: “To be able to hear Rikki’s heart again was amazing. It was like having a hug off Rikki.”
