LIONS’ SHARE

-

Chelsea’s Premier League triumph last season left bookmaker Paddy Power Betfair feeling the blues.

The Lions’ great end to the season cost the firm dear as punters piled in.

That partly offset a bookie-friendly Cheltenham horse racing festival, which still ensured profits rose 22% to £220million during the six months to June 30.

The firm’s share price fell a further 3.3% yesterday after they took a knock following the announcement the day before that boss Breon Corcoran was stepping down.
