IBE GOT TO BUCK UP

- BY ALEX CROOK

BOURNEMOUTH’S Jordon Ibe says he must buck up his ideas after admitting his first season with the Cherries was a nightmare.

The former Liverpool attacking midfielder (left) had a weak debut campaign on the south coast, following his £15million transfer from Anfield last summer.

Ibe, an England Under-21 international, said: “Last season was very poor. I did not even score a goal, so it is time for me to buck up my ideas and become a man.

“I don’t know if it was my age or that my head wasn’t right. I just know it was not as good as it should have been.”

Ibe, 21, added: “Eddie Howe put a lot of trust in me by bringing me here for such a big price at a young age, so, hopefully, I can do well and help the team. I want to add some assists and goals.

“I feel like I have had a better pre-season.

“It has been a long settling-in period, but I am still young and still have a lot to learn.

“The senior players and the rest of the team help me, especially the coaching staff.

“I’m just hoping the fans will see the real Jordon Ibe this season – I’ve got a lot to prove.”
