City boos can go on
MANCHESTER CITY fans can carry on booing the Champions League anthem – without landing their club in trouble.
City supporters showed their anger after the club was punished in 2014 under Financial Fair Play rules and when CSKA Moscow fans got into a tie supposed to be behind closed doors.
Officials had to investigate the booing, after it was included in the official report by the match delegate. But changes to those regulations – from July 1 – prohibit the booing of national anthems, but not the Champions League pre-match anthem.
