Pope has more followers on Twitter than President Trump
POPE Francis has more followers on Twitter than any other world figure, including Donald Trump.
Combining his nine Twitter accounts in different languages, the Pope has 36.2million followers, with the US president behind on 35.3million.
But he trails Kim Kardashian’s 54.6million online fans.
The Pope’s most popular tweets appear to refer to Trump policies. On March 18 this year, he said: “I invite you not to build walls but bridges,” and a month earlier, he wrote: “How often in the Bible the Lord asks us to welcome migrants and foreigners.” The only other religious leader near the pontiff is the Dalai Lama, with 14.1million. The study by Twiplomacy, a group tracking world leaders’ social media use, found 856 government Twitter accounts with 356million followers.
