This is a thoroughly bizarre and miserable drama isn’t it? Elisabeth Moss plays Sydney cop Robin, who is investigating the death of ‘China Girl’, whom she now believes is a surrogate mother.

After a graphic (and fake) confession from an inmate, she begins chasing other leads. But if that wasn’t depressing enough, Robin also has to put up with some moronic men in her life, including a creepy proposition from another officer on the rooftop of the police station.

But it all gets worse when an unwelcome visitor from Robin’s past arrives.

Elsewhere, horrified at Puss’s plans to marry Mary, Julia (Nicole Kidman) and Pyke (Ewen Leslie) do some research into him. It all leads to a restaurant meal from hell where they confront him and he storms out. It’s so cringey, it almost descends into comedy.
