MEMORIES BUBBLE UP

The piece of music used on the new Coca-Cola advert brought back some fond memories for me. Tony Dallara’s Come Prima was the music played on my late sister’s trinket box.

It is strange how a song, which was written in 1958, can spark such powerful memories. I would like to thank the powers that be at the advertising agency for choosing such an evocative piece of music. Kevin Simpson-Woodall, Hull

John Bird MBE advocates a war on poverty and I could not a agree with him more (Madeuthink, August 7). Most of the poverty we see today has been created by Tory governments past and present. Child poverty has soared by 400,000 since the Tories came to power in 2010, while pensioner poverty has also increased.
