ENGLAND LOOK WORLD CLASS IN 10-TRY VICTORY

- BY MATT LAWLESS

FLOYD MAYWEATHER admits Conor McGregor has the edge over him – just weeks before their billion-dollar Las Vegas showdown.

ENGLAND made a 10-try statement as they launched their Women’s World Cup campaign in style.

Wing Kay Wilson ran in four tries and set out their stall in the first minute, with Megan Jones crossing the line.

Wilson completed her hat-trick in 31 minutes and Emily Scarratt, Harriet MillarMills, Alex Matthews, Amy Cockayne and Lydia Thompson also dotted down to complete a comprehensive victory over the world’s eighth-ranked Test side.

England captain Sarah Hunter said: “We’re happy to get a win under our belts. It’s job one done. There’s plenty for us to improve for our next game.

“Spain came at us and gave us some problems at times.

“It’s pleasing to get all that training come to fruition out there on the pitch.”

England coach Simon Middleton said: “Since we’ve arrived here, our focus has been on us and we’ve not taken on the external pressure. It’s one job at a time.

“At times, we did OK, but we have to go away and work on some aspects. In tournament rugby you have to win every game in front of you.”

Wales lost 44-12 to New Zealand in their opening Pool A game.
