JORDAN SPIETH
Seeking to become the youngest player to complete the career Grand Slam, the Texan, 24, claimed The Open in dramatic style last month. He has claimed that he only won at Royal Birkdale by putting well in the last six holes.
HIDEKI MATSUYAMA
The world No.3 is bidding to become the first Japanese man to win a Major. He has won six times in his last 20 starts worldwide, including at last week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational where he shot a final round 61.
WEBB SIMPSON
The 2012 US Open champion has an intimate knowledge of Quail Hollow as he lives on the Charlotte course and is a member. The world No.60 lost in the play-off at Phoenix to Matsuyama.
DANIEL BERGER
The world No.19 from Florida loves playing on the Bermuda grass which has been laid on the revamped greens at Quail Hollow. He retained his FedEx St Jude Classic title in June – an event also played on Bermuda greens.
RICKIE FOWLER
The world No.10 won his first PGA Tour event by beating McIlroy in a play-off at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow. The 28-year-old is ready to win a Major.
