A WHOLLY TRINITY IS CHESTER’S DEMAND

- GARETH WALKER

CHRIS CHESTER “threw the kitchen sink” at his players after Friday’s disappointing defeat at Huddersfield – and now wants the real Wakefield Trinity to stand up.

Successive losses to St Helens and the Giants have dumped Chester’s side out of the top four after a season of over-achievement until then.

Now the Trinity coach is keen to avoid any repeat of last year’s late-campaign collapse, starting with tonight’s derby against the in-form Rhinos.

Chester said: “After the game at Huddersfield I threw the kitchen sink at the players a bit.

“It was probably the worst performance since I’ve been in charge here, and we need to make sure that’s a one-off.

“I can cop getting beat, but not getting beat on desire. I’ve calmed down a bit since, and the crazy thing about it all is that a win here will take us back into the top four.

“We’re hopeful and confident we can put in a showing that can reflect the Wakefield Trinity of 2017.

“These games are coming thick and fast and we can’t dwell on it.

“But we have to try and find that extra 10 per cent other clubs have been finding.”

Chester welcomes back key duo Jacob Miller and Joe Arundel, but prop Adam Walker has been suspended after a positive cocaine test.
