BBC’S COMMENTARY LIVE FROM..SALFORD

THE BBC has agreed only a one-year deal to show this week’s US PGA – and Peter Alliss will be commentating on the events from a studio in Salford.

The final Major of the year has been shown by Sky since 1992 and the agreement for it to be televised by the BBC was struck only last month.

Just the final hour of play will be shown on BBC2 in the first two rounds and Alliss (above) will be covering events from the UK.
