Royal driver spooked by Diana’s body
PRINCESS Diana’s former driver is still haunted by the harrowing experience of tending to her body as it lay in a hospital bed.
Colin Tebbutt, who flew to Paris shortly after the death crash in 1997, “vividly” recalls getting a fan to cool the room.
He told Good Morning Britain: “As I turned around, the eyelashes and hair of the princess were moving caused by the fan. I had to turn away.”
Asked if he wished he had been driving on that fateful August 31 night, Mr Tebbutt, 78, said: “Yes, you always do that. That is not good to have in the mind.”
