WHAT’S NEXT Mick and Linda Carter

Following the latest showdown between Mick and Linda Carter, some EastEnders fans will be wondering whether they will stay together.

It still looks touch and go — especially with the third person in that marriage, Whitney, still on the scene.

However, as far as Mick and Linda’s longevity goes, I’m afraid I’ve already reached the “I ain’t bothered” stage.

I’m not sure Mick and Linda will ever be up there with Queen Vic legends such as Den and Angie, Pat/Peggy and Frank or Phil/Grant and Sharon.

They came into Walford almost four years ago full of promise, and they have pretty much dominated the show — on and off screen — ever since.

That is part of the problem. So much has been thrown at the Carters in such a relatively short space of time it’s hard to see what storylines could possibly now be left.
