Toon boss Benitez was initially hoping to take Perez, 28, on loan. But the Gunners want to recoup at least £13million of the £17m First three games AUGUST 13: Tottenham (h) 20: Huddersfield (a) 26: West Ham (h) they paid Deportivo for the Spanish club’s former fans favourite only last August.

One deal that is set to go through in the Magpies’ favour is the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Kenedy.

The move is all but sealed for the 21-year-old Brazilian, who can operate both as a winger and at left-back. PHILIPPE COUTINHO will have to demand a transfer to have any chance of moving to Barcelona.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains adamant he will not sell the Brazilian.

But Barca are expected to make a third offer despite being told he is not for sale at any price after a £90million bid this week.

Klopp said: “Liverpool is not a club that has to sell players. That is set in stone.

“There is no price limit to let him go. No price at which we are ready to give in.”

Barca have also bid £92m for Dortmund striker Ousmane Dembele, 20. He was then suspended by the club after missing training.
