To say I’m not happy on this summer Saturday is an understatement. I am very not happy. Saturday mornings will simply never be the same again.
For 22 years the absolutely brilliant, without-equal Helen Chamberlain has ring-mastered Sky’s iconic Soccer AM, steadily steering the live show – holding it together and making it all look as easy as a kickabout in the park when, in truth, it’s more like being the star keepy-upperer in a recordbreaking keepy-uppy session.
In her time as best sports presenter ever, she’s seen more football managers come and go than even a Chelsea fan.
And now she’s gone. She is one of the most natural, professional, genuine and knowledgeable presenters out there.
I will miss her. I will have a lie-incum-sort-of-boycott in her honour today.
I am so not happy that she’s going. Sick as a parrot, I am.
