Move to curb laser danger

NEW laws to tackle laser pen thugs who temporarily blind aircraft pilots and train drivers are to be considered by ministers.

Targeting a plane can lead to a fine of up to £2,500 but legislation to make prosecutions easier was axed in June.

The Government is now consulting on ideas such as licensing sales and advertising restrictions.

Business Minister Margot James said: “We must sure regulations keep up with increased use.”
