Move to curb laser danger

NEW laws to tackle laser pen thugs who temporaril­y blind aircraft pilots and train drivers are to be considered by ministers.

Targeting a plane can lead to a fine of up to £2,500 but legislatio­n to make prosecutio­ns easier was axed in June.

The Government is now consulting on ideas such as licensing sales and advertisin­g restrictio­ns.

Business Minister Margot James said: “We must sure regulation­s keep up with increased use.”
