Dog walker murder cops search home

- BY LOUIE SMITH

DETECTIVES investigating the killing of an elderly dog walker have been given more time to question a man in his 20s after searching a family home.

The man is being quizzed on suspicion of murdering Peter Wrighton, 83, found dead in woodland nine days ago.

The retired BT engineer had been stabbed repeatedly in the neck and head.

Forensics officers have been searching a £500,000 property, 20 miles from where Peter died in East Harling, Norfolk.

Locals say the family are on holiday in New Zealand but one son stayed home.

A neighbour in Cringleford said: “Police have been there two days. The family have a good few dogs, so I’d see one of the sons walking up the road most days.”
