Neo-Nazi groups share antiSemitic ideals and a love for Adolf Hitler. The most visible of these is the National Alliance, with around 3,000 members.
The infamous Ku Klux Klan was formed by ex-Confederate officers after the Civil War. The KKK is growing again and has about 8,000 members who target blacks, Jews, immigrants and, more recently, gays.
