Pupils not to be called to Ann inquest

- BY LUCY THORNTON

MURDERED Ann Maguire THE family of murdered teacher Ann Maguire have lost their legal challenge to get her killer’s fellow students called as witnesses at her inquest.

Ann, 61, was stabbed to death by 15-year-old Will Cornick in 2014 at the school where she had worked for over 40 years.

Earlier he had told other pupils at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds what he planned to do.

The family wanted the pupils to give evidence at the inquest in Wakefield in November. The coroner ruled it out, saying they were “vulnerable”.

The family called for a judicial review but the High Court ruled against them yesterday.

Their lawyer said they want “lessons to be learned” from the murder.
