Now the £199million man has Champions League glory and Ballon d’Or honours in his sights. Neymar’s chances of being hailed the world’s best should increase away from Lionel Messi’s shadow.
He said: “People think you die when you leave Barcelona. But no, it’s the opposite. I’m more alive than ever at PSG.
“I play, I’m very happy. The country, the city and the team change – but football is the same.
“I knew it would be very difficult to leave Barca but I am very happy to be here.
“It’s always important to score, and I hope to score more, but I want to help the team win even more first and foremost.”
