Young want King William on throne instead of Charles III

ALMOST half of us want Prince William to leapfrog his father Prince Charles to become the next monarch.

Among 18 to 24-year-olds, 63% back William to succeed the Queen, a Prospect Magazine poll found.

It also showed 21% of us would be less supportive of the monarchy if Charles was king.

The findings are another blow for Charles after recent polling showed the public was still unwilling to accept his wife Camilla as queen. Tom Clark, editor of Prospect, said: “As the reign of Charles III slowly approaches, there is little sign of the kingdom warming to the idea. “If anything, the evidence points the other way. “The most disturbing of all for the Prince of Wales is the way his support really collapses among the young.”
