French crash suspect held

A POT-smoking security guard has been named as the suspected would-be mass murderer who drove his car into a restaurant terrace near Paris.

David Patterson, 32, thought to have British links, is being held after a girl of 12 died and 13 others were hit by a BMW on Monday.

He apparently told police he wanted to commit suicide

Patterson, who lived with his parents, faces life in jail if found guilty.
